Messi was born in Argentina, 24 June 1987. His family wasn’t very rich but they had the love of football to keep their spirits high. Messi grew up loving football and always wanted to be a professional football player.

 

He joined a local club coached by his father at 5 years old. The club is called “Newell’s Old Boys”.

 

At a young age, Messi was diagnosed with growth hormone deficiency. His family could not afford to pay for the treatment and this news crushed his dreams of being a professional football player.

 

At the age of 13, Messi received an offer from one of the biggest clubs in the world, FC Barcelona and they said that they would pay for the treatment of he played for them. His family could not afford to move to Spain but, they committed and moved in order for Messi to pursue his dream.

 

He became the youngest player to score a goal for FC Barcelona ever at the age of 17.

 

Messi is now known as one of the best football players of all time.

 

Messi’s story teaches us never to give up, even when the hopes are low.
